Courtesy Calls

Mayor Reynaldo Uy had a busy day today (July 7, 2010). As with the previous days, a good number of Calbayognons were on hand to see him for their various concerns. In between meetings, the City Mayor also took time to receive Civil Service Commission Samar Provincial Director Michael De La Cruz, the officers of GSP-Calbayog, Mr. David Bellihoff of GTZ, Department of Budget and Management (DBM-8) RD Imelda Laceras and Senior Inspector Joelito Sabandal of BFP-Calbayog.

Mayor Mel Sarmiento received Congressman Bongbong Marcos yesterday. With Congresman Marcos during his courtesy call were Tacloban City Mayor Alfred Romualdez and Councilor Christina Romualdez.

Courtesy Call by the 34th IB Officers

Mayor Mel Sarmiento today received Col Dionesio Miguel and 1Lt Jelynne Unabia, Commanding Officer and S-7 Civil Military Operations Officer, respectively, of the 34th IB of the Philippine Army.

Among the many concerns that they discussed in today's courtesy call was the details on the propelactic patrol which the 34th IB will be conducting in some barangays in Calbayog District. The activity is part of the effort to augment the local police force in maintaining peace and order in the area. It should be noted that lately peace and security has become an issue with the series of killings in various barangays in Cabayog.

Mayor Mel Sarmiento today received PInsp Karlou Caesar Camposano and PInsp Vicente Bullecer, Jr. The two police officers are part of the two platoons of police troops from the Police Regional Mobile Group (PRMG) which the PNP Regional Office deployed to Samar to immediately stop the criminalities in the area. Calbayog co-hosts PCSO Charity Caravan

The city government of Calbayog co-hosted the PCSO Charity Caravan held on June 26, 2007. The activity which was held at the Jogger's Court was in line with PCSO's 75th anniversary celebration.

PCSO provided the medicines while the LGU provided the medical personnel who extended medical and dental services to more than 1,000 patients.

The day before the medical & dental mission, officials from PCSO regional office paid a courtesy call on Mayor Mel Sarmiento. They were accompanied by the City Health Officer, Dr. Cesar Sabenicio.
