Fireworks lit the Calbayog sky last night as Halad sa Pasko 2009 officially opened. The annual Christmas Festival will feature nighthly presentations at the Nijaga Park AND the caroling and gift-giving to some our less fortunate brothers in some salected barangays. This annual event is being spearheaded by the Calbayog LGU through the City Arts and Culture Office.

Calbayognons will be treated to a "mid-size" Christmas tree this year. The organizers who used to setup the giant Christmas Tree at at the Cardinal Rosales Plaza (for the past so many years) forego the activity this year.

almost there

I was at Nijaga Park last weekend and saw some LGU personnel busy with some final nitty gritty in preparation for the activities which will officially open the observance of the 60th Calbayog Charter Day Anniversary.

The streamers are out and the stalls (for the Agro-Indsutrial Fair) are almost finished. Nijaga Park is the venue for a good number of activites slated for the Charter Day celebration.

Agriculture Secretary Arthur Yap has been invited to the celebration.

HADANG 2007

I thought yesterday was a holiday. Well, it was a kinda loaded day for me and the people at the City Arts and Culture Office. First I delivered a lecture on ushering and a little bit on personality and social graces to the some CKSP scholars. It was followed by a meeting at the Cathedral for the Fiesta (Pontifical) Mass. Then it was time for the final rehearsal for the HADANG 2007 Opening Ceremonies.

The Park was kinda crowded and the participants were quite in top shape. May I share with you some pictures which Annalee Balane took during the rehearsal.
