Calbayog City has a new Chief of Police. In simple ceremonies on October 17, 2008, Police Superintendent Isaias Tonog bid PNP Calbayog farewell as he officially turned-over his post to Police Superintendent Lito Turalba Bigoy. Superintendent Tonog will assume a higher position at the PNP RO8 Mobile Group.
In attendance during the ceremony were Mayor Mel Sarmiento, Board Member Charlie Coñejos, Samar Deputy Provincial Director P/Supt. Maximo Manicani, and the officers of PNP Calbayog.
